It has been about ten years since we have been passionate about music composition for cinema, both in theory and in practice.
Krishvy's experience has been shaped by various encounters: she did an internship at Score Factory with Patrick Sigwalt, took a course in composition techniques for film with FX Dupas and Tristan Capacchione at the University of Montreal, had the opportunity to meet Henning Lohner and Pierre Funck - two talented and internationally recognized composers, the latter welcoming her to Zurich to discover the composition work of his students at the University of the Arts.
Already enriched by these exchanges and valuable advice, perfectly complementary to her research activities on the importance of music in cinema, Krishvy offers to bring a musical life to your film projects. She is now associated with Flora, who brings her skills in mixing and mastering to the final composition.
Beyond the composition itself, it is important for us to first find a common language with the director. The visuals, sounds, gestures... all audiovisual components help us imagine the tone and color palette that will give life to the film, and the exchanges with the director throughout the artistic process guide us towards the crucial points of the composition: those that will reveal the meaning and message of the film.
Because simply knowing how to compose music is not enough: far from being limited to arranging notes, the act of composition must be thought of in relation to the audiovisual components to forcefully bring to life the poetic, ethical, and political choices proposed by the production.
Book MusiqueEmphase 2024
We had the opportunity to collaborate in theater with the companies "Waterzooï" and "Les Lanternes Publiques", as well as in dance with "Image Dense" for whom we created the music for the film Parcae.
One of our projects with "Image Dense", based on the universe of Alice in Wonderland, was awarded the young talent project grant in 2015: an ambitious project with dance, musicians, and choristers on stage, plus 3 screens including two screens with live projection. This project involved students from Marie-Curie high school, students from the cinema, theater, dance, and musicology departments of the University of Strasbourg, and received support from the Alsace region and the University of Strasbourg.
In addition to music creation, we also have the opportunity to facilitate launches, transitions, and even consider creating interaction spaces between music and actors/dancers through musical programming on Wwise. To learn more, feel free to check out the "What we offer > Escape Game" tab which details the possibilities of this software.
Don't hesitate to contact us for any questions or comments, and of course if you would like us to meet to discuss your creation project!
